Pros

It is simple to remove and easy to shape, causes little change in the body, and rarely causes a foreign body reaction.
Cons

The fact that it is a foreign substance increases the risk of infection or inflammation, and if the implant is not properly fixed due to its ease of removal, it may move under the skin.

Septal Cartilage

The septal nasal cartilage is situated below the inferior margin of the nasal bone between the nostrils.

No additional incision is required; robust
Cons

Since every person's size varies, there is a limited amount of cartilage that can be harvested, and in some cases, there is almost no cartilage at all.

Ear Cartilage

The cartilage inside the ear is softer than the nasal septum and has a curved shape, giving the tip of the nose a more natural appearance.

Pros

Soft and useful for shaping the nose tip
Cons

It is difficult to extend its length and has an irregular curved shape.

Own Rib Cartilage

It is a method of harvesting one's own rib cartilage and using it as a prosthesis or support for nasal plastic surgery, and it is collected through a minimum incision of about 2cm right underneath the chest line, with No. 6-10 being the most commonly usedcartilages.

Pros

Because the amount of rib cartilage is abundant, you can use it from the bridge to the tip of the nose.
Cons

An additional surgery is required to harvest the rib cartilage from below the chest line.

Donor Rib Cartilage

This is obtained from organ tissue laboratories and is derived from a young cadaver donor rib. It has been thoroughly screened, and the rib has been purified through radiation treatment.

Pros

There is no need for a separate procedure to extract the rib cartilage because you are not harvesting your own.
Cons

In comparison to your own rib cartilage, the cost burden rises with the amount of cartilage used, and since it is obtained from others, there is a risk of infection.

Own Dermis

Autologous dermal rhinoplasty uses skin taken from a patient's own body rather than an artificial implant.

Pros

It soft to touch and can be used on thin skin.
Cons

When absorption happens, accurate height prediction skills are needed.

Donor Dermis

It is made from healthy skin taken from another person, which has been stripped of its epidermis, hair, hair follicles, sweat glands, and all moisture and cells.

Pros

Collagen fibers are formed by crossing them in parallel, resulting in a low absorption rate.
Cons

The absorption rate is 30% and varies.
